Delaying ejaculation is above all about regaining control over one's pleasure. Delay products act locally or systemically to help prolong intercourse without altering the partner's sensations.
The ejaculation retardant, how does it work?
The majority of topical retardants (sprays, creams, gels) contain a mild anesthetic, most often lidocaine or benzocaine, which temporarily reduces the sensitivity of the glans. Applied 10 to 15 minutes before intercourse and then wiped off, they diminish the stimulus without completely blocking sensation. How to choose your ejaculation retardant
- Check the ingredients: if your partner is sensitive to anesthetics, prefer a formula based on natural active ingredients or a food supplement.
- Take the onset of action into account: topicals act in 10-15 minutes, supplements in several days; choose according to whether your usage is spontaneous or planned.
- Adapt the format to your daily life: a spray travels easily, a cream requires a more careful application time.
- If you use condoms, check the compatibility of the formula to avoid damaging the latex.
