Dotted & Ribbed Condoms - Control
Textured condoms combine protection with mechanical stimulation: studs, ribs, or a combination of both create extra micro-friction during intercourse.
Dotted and ribbed condoms: how do they work?
The surface texture of a dotted or ribbed condom relies on reliefs molded directly into the latex during manufacturing. The studs (raised dots) act via point pressure on the vaginal or anal walls, while the ribs (circular or helical grooves) produce a linear friction effect with every thrust. These reliefs are generally between 0.3 and 0.8 mm high—enough to be felt without compromising the condom's strength.
These models meet the same CE standards as smooth condoms (EN ISO 4074) and therefore offer identical protection against STIs and unintended pregnancies. Some satisfaction studies indicate that over 60% of textured condom users report a higher intensity of sensation compared to standard models. To optimize the experience, combining a textured condom with a suitable lubricant remains the best practice.
Different types of textured condoms
- Dotted: covered in small raised dots distributed over the entire surface, it provides diffuse and omnidirectional stimulation.
- Ribbed: featuring horizontal or spiral rings, it enhances sensations during thrusting movements through targeted friction.
- Combined Ribs & Dots: combines both types of relief for stimulation that is both pinpoint and linear, such as Pasante Ribs & Dots or Control Dots & Lines models.
- Enhanced intensity: certain formats, such as the Pasante 144-unit packs, are designed for regular or professional use with a higher density of reliefs.
How to choose the right dotted or ribbed condom
- Pack size: 3-packs are suitable for testing a texture, while boxes of 12 or 144 are for regular use or stocking up.
- Size: an ill-fitting condom reduces sensation and increases the risk of breakage; check the nominal width indicated on the packaging. For larger sizes, explore our selection of condoms of all sizes.
- Desired type of relief: dots for diffuse stimulation, ribs for rhythmic friction, and combined for those who want to maximize the effect of both.
- Latex sensitivity: if you or your partner have an allergy, opt for the polyisoprene or polyurethane models offered in the range.
- Integrated lubricant: most textured models are pre-lubricated, but the quantity varies by brand; an additional water-based lubricant is still recommended for optimal comfort.
