The waterproof sheet, how does it work?

Its principle relies on a waterproof membrane integrated into the fabric, generally made of polyurethane or flexible PVC, which blocks any liquid before it reaches your mattress. This protective layer can absorb up to several hundred milliliters without letting a drop through, while maintaining a pleasant texture against the skin.

Depending on the model, the waterproofing is guaranteed by heat sealing or chemical coating. Disposable versions often measure 150x200 cm, the size of a standard double bed, for total coverage without the need for adjustment.

The different types of waterproof sheets

• Reusable waterproof sheet: made of coated polyester or microfiber, it is machine washable and can withstand dozens of cycles without losing its waterproof properties.
• Disposable hygienic sheet: for single use, ideal for travel or for maximum hygiene without cleaning; often non-woven, soft, and breathable.

How to choose your waterproof sheet
