How does an erotic massage work?
Erotic massage combines the benefits of touch and sensory stimulation to foster a connection between partners. Massage candles are formulated with low-melting-point waxes, generally between 45°C and 55°C, which turn into warm oil applied directly to the skin. Wand massagers, which are powerful and versatile, provide deep vibrations that are ideal for muscle massages and erogenous zones.
Kits like the Shunga Sweet Kisses or the Naughtier bring together several complementary products (oil, feather, chocolate spread) to explore different textures in a single session. A standard Shunga candle produces between 20 and 30 ml of oil per burn, enough for a full back massage.
The different types of massage products
- Massage candle: like Shunga candles in chocolate, melon-mango, or jasmine scents, it melts into a non-greasy warm oil, can be applied with a brush or by hand, and does not stain sheets if used in moderate amounts.
- Erotic scented candle: the Senze Ecstatic ylang-ylang candle by Swede creates an olfactory atmosphere even before touch; to be used in addition to a classic massage oil.
- Erotic kit: Shunga or Je Joue Naughty Collection sets that combine accessories, body products, and guides to structure an evening without forced improvisation.
- Wand massager: Armony and CalExotics First Time models, mains-powered or rechargeable, with a flexible head to reach difficult-to-access areas and several intensity levels.
How to choose your massage products
- Based on allergies: check the ingredient list of candles and oils if you have sensitive skin; Shunga formulas are generally paraben- and silicone-free.
- Based on desired intensity: for a gentle and sensory massage, a candle is enough; for muscle work or more intense stimulation, a rechargeable wand massager like those from Armony will be more suitable.
- Based on the duration of the evening: a complete kit is ideal for a long evening, while a candle alone is suitable for a quick and spontaneous session.
- Based on the scent: ylang-ylang is known for its soothing properties; jasmine is more invigorating; chocolate and melon-mango play more on the gourmand and playful side.
- Based on compatibility: massage oils are not compatible with latex condoms or silicone sex toys; use them separately or opt for a water-based oil.
