The menstrual cup is a small, reusable collector placed in the vagina to collect menstrual flow. Stercup models are made of food-grade medical silicone, free from latex and BPA, for use with complete confidence.

The menstrual cup, how does it work?

Folded in half or in a C-shape, the cup is inserted into the vagina where it unfolds and creates a light, airtight seal. It collects blood rather than absorbing it, which preserves the natural vaginal flora and prevents the drying out of mucous membranes. Simply remove it, rinse it with clean water, and reinsert it—a routine that becomes very quick after a few cycles of practice.

A well-maintained cup can last between 5 and 10 years, representing an estimated saving of several hundred euros compared to disposable protection. Its retention capacity, depending on the chosen size, generally varies between 20 and 30 ml, sufficient to cover up to 12 hours of continuous wear even on days with heavy flow. To complete your intimate hygiene routine, remember to sterilize your cup between each cycle.

The different Stercup sizes

  • Size S: recommended before a first vaginal birth or for light to moderate flow, it offers a collection volume adapted to smaller morphologies and facilitates insertion for beginners.
  • Size L: designed for heavy flows or after childbirth, its larger capacity reduces the number of daily emptyings and offers more stable support.
  • Purple color: a discreet shade that masks potential staining without requiring intensive cleaning between uses.
  • Blue and pink colors: options to personalize your experience and easily distinguish your cup from another user's in the same household.

How to choose your Stercup correctly

  • Your morphology and history: if you have never given birth vaginally, start with size S; size L is better suited after childbirth or if you feel a sensation of your size S cup slipping out.
  • Your usual flow: a light to moderate flow is perfectly accommodated by size S, while a heavy flow justifies the larger capacity of size L to avoid emptying too frequently.
  • The position of your cervix: a low cervix can make the insertion of a long cup uncomfortable; find out about the length of the grip stem and the possibility of shortening it.
  • The material: Stercup medical silicone is hypoallergenic, odorless, and compatible with the vast majority of morphologies, even for sensitive skin.
  • Maintenance: sterilize your cup for 5 minutes in boiling water at the beginning and end of your cycle, and rinse it with cold (not hot) water during emptying to limit stains. To explore other products dedicated to intimate well-being, our selection awaits you.
