When a battery dies at the wrong time, the whole experience comes to a halt. Varta batteries are designed to last, with alkaline formulas tested for high-drain devices.
How do alkaline batteries work?
An alkaline battery relies on a chemical reaction between zinc (anode) and manganese dioxide (cathode), within an alkaline electrolyte based on potassium hydroxide. This process delivers a stable voltage of 1.5 V (or 9 V for block formats) throughout the discharge, which is essential for vibrator motors and other sensitive electronic devices.
Varta announces a shelf life of up to 10 years for its long-life ranges, allowing you to keep a spare stock without worrying about self-discharge. The leak-proof design also reduces the risk of leakage, thereby protecting the battery compartment of your favorite toys.
The different Varta battery formats
- AA (LR6): the most common format, compatible with the majority of vibrators and battery-operated massage devices, available in 4-pack blisters or shrink-wrap packs
- AAA (LR03): compact format ideal for small toys, remote controls, and pocket stimulators, sold in 4-pack blisters
- C (LR14): intermediate cylindrical format for high-power devices that require more battery life, in 2-pack blisters
- 9V (LR61): square block format used in certain electronic toys and stimulation devices, sold individually in blisters
How to choose the right batteries for sex toys and accessories?
- Check the required format indicated in your device's manual (AA, AAA, C, or 9V) before ordering
- Prioritize long-life ranges if you use your toy regularly: they offer a better battery life/price ratio over time
- Opt for a shrink-wrap pack if you want to keep spares on hand without cluttering your drawers
- For your spare batteries and accessories, remember to always have an extra blister pack on hand, especially for high-drain devices like wands
- Avoid mixing new and used batteries in the same compartment: this reduces performance and can lead to leaks that damage your toy
